Zbori Privacy Policy

Zbori ("the app") is a Serbian language learning application. This policy explains what data the app handles and why. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run your account and sync your learning progress, we show ads through Google AdSense, and we never sell your data.

Data we collect

• Account data. If you create an account, we store your email address and authentication credentials. Sign-in is handled by Supabase (our authentication and database provider). If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address from Google; we do not receive your contacts or other Google data.
• Learning progress. Your XP, streak, hearts, completed lessons, review schedule, and settings are stored on your device. If you are signed in, they are also synced to our database (Supabase) so your progress follows you across devices.
• Leaderboard. If you are signed in, your display name, chosen avatar, XP, and streak may appear on the in-app leaderboard, where they are visible to other users of the app.
• Text-to-speech. When the app speaks a phrase aloud, the text of that phrase is sent to Google Cloud's Text-to-Speech service (via our own server, which adds the API credentials) to generate audio. No personal information is included in these requests. Many common phrases are pre-generated and served as static audio files, so no request to Google is made for those.

Advertising

Zbori shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve those ads and may use them to show ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on your visit to Zbori and other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices. For details on how Google handles data from sites that use its services, see Google's partner sites policy.

We do not share your account details, email address, or learning progress with Google's advertising systems.

What we do NOT collect

• No location data.
• No contacts, photos, or files.
• No analytics or tracking SDKs of our own, beyond the Google AdSense advertising cookies described above.
• Microphone audio for speaking exercises is transcribed using your browser's built-in speech recognition feature. We never receive, upload, or store that audio ourselves; any processing happens between your device and your browser vendor (e.g. Google, on Chrome) as part of that built-in feature, the same as for any other website you speak to.

Data storage and security

Account and progress data are stored with Supabase. Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are handled by Supabase's authentication system and are never visible to us.

Deleting your data

You can use the app without an account. All data then stays on your device and is removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall it. To delete your account and all synced data, email us at the address below and we will remove it within 30 days.

Children

Zbori does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app's content is suitable for all ages.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated date.
